Elite Team Transportation is a family-owned hot shot trucking company based out of Houston, TX. They specialize in general non-hazmat freight and make deliveries across all 48 states.

The Problem
- Company needed a website for potential customers to find them online. They had been relying on job boards posted by freight brokers and word of mouth for their business.
- With the growth that a website would provide, the company also needed an easy way for contract drivers to apply for work.
- Company still does not have a strong brand presence so website needed to focus on their initial brand story while leaving flexibility to update once a logo was decided upon by owners.
Client Meeting Notes and Sketches
Notes were taken on equipment and terminology used in the hot shot trucking industry. Together, we outlined the competitive advantages, and I drew out a preliminary sketch of the home page.
The Strategy
I researched other hot shot trucking companies to learn more about the industry and give me insights on how to highlight the messaging for Elite Team Transportation.
Equipped with all that information, I could create a simple website that explains services offered and a way for customers and job applicants to contact them. I was careful to use terminology that is common in the industry but could also be understood by everyday customer.

Color Combination
For the website colors, I chose 3 to keep the layout simple. The primary color would be a dark blue since research showed that blue can represent reliability. Yellow and gray colors were selected as accents for callout boxes or hyperlink selections.
Iconography
In designing the website, I created simple iconography that would highlight the company's strengths and what set them aside from the competition. These company advantages are found on the Home Page and Services page, where they are most relevant to the customer.

To help the owners manage all the entries on the website, the WPForms plugin was used. The owners could login to WordPress to check if a new entry was submitted by customers or potential contractors.
